Volunteers

Hari Om,

The Prashantha Ganapathi Temple has long been recognized for its extensive base of dedicated volunteers, known as SwayamSevaks. Volunteering, or selfless service (Swayamseva), is a core virtue of Indic culture (Bharateeya Samskruti), and temples serve as primary venues for this noble activity.

At our temple, regardless of the nature of the event or program, groups of volunteers eagerly take on various roles and responsibilities without hesitation. Regular events such as Pradosha, Sathyanarayana Pooja, and Sankashtahara Chaturthi draw large numbers of devotees from the surrounding areas. To manage the crowd, serve Prasadam, and organize Seva distribution, our volunteers work diligently, staying until the last devotee has completed their darshan.

Volunteering is not limited to regular events. During major occasions like Varshikotsava (Anniversary), Chinmaya Balavihara, and discourses, we consistently see enthusiastic participation from volunteers, ranging in age from 12 to over 60 years.

For all major temple events, volunteer meetings are held to discuss and delegate roles and responsibilities for each detailed task. After the event, volunteers reconvene to evaluate and identify areas for improvement.

Our temple's volunteer spirit extends beyond Prashantha Nagar, attracting individuals from various parts of Bengaluru city. This highlights the inclusive and welcoming culture of our temple community.

We invite you to join us in serving divinity and society. Remember, Nara Seveye Narayana Seve (Serving humanity is serving God).
